RUMOR: NIFA Wouldve Killed Last Years Referendum Anyway

Last Summer led by Nassau County Exec Ed Mangano, and of course Charles Wang there was a referendum vote which sought Nassau County residents approval to borrow 400 million dollars in order to construct a new Nassau Coliseum, a minor league ball park and an in door track and field facility at Mitchell Field.  Should this have passed then NIFA (Nassau Intern Finance Authority) would've had to pass it before it was enacted because of Nassaus terrible financial situation.

Unfortunately the referendum was voted down, so it was never found out if NIFA would've passed it or not.  There has been some recent chatter however, that NIFA would not have passed the vote had it ultimately been given a green light by Nassau voters.

If NIFA truly has this stance, then given there position being in charge of the finances for the County for the time being at least, it makes the Islanders picture in Nassau which is already bleak, that much bleaker.
