BREAKING: Visnovsky Trade To Isles Held Up By Arbitrator

Within the last hour, the Islanders announced their acquisition of defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky was upheld by an arbitrator so the defenseman will be suiting up with the Islanders this season.  (Assuming there is one)

Visnovsky was acquired the night of the NHL amateur draft back in June.  However, roughly a month after the trade he filed a grievance with the NHLPA to block the trade saying that he still had a NTC and thus should've been consulted before the move was made.

This type of acquisition is one fans have been screaming for, for the last few seasons.  Although it will certainly help the team in multiple facets of the game, I do not believe they are a playoff team yet, but hey maybe they will surprise me.
