At practice today, it was announced that Michael Grabner will be out 7-10 days with a shoulder injury.  At that point, he will be reevaluated.

Well, the announcement of this injury puts two and two together when it comes to his really low amounts of ice time the last few games.

Returning Troops

At practice today, forward Jesse Joensuu and defenseman Matt Carkner were both on the ice.  Joensuu has yet to play a game this season after getting injured in Europe during the lockout.  He was signed by the Islanders this past summer with a clause in his contract allowing him to go back to Europe and play if he didn't make the Islanders lineup.  Carkner has been out a while now after having a set back in his initial rehab.  Carkners size and mean streak will be a more then welcomed addition back to the blue line which severely lacks those elements now.
