photo courtesy of http://image.cdnl3.xosnetwork.com/In the last hour, it was announced that Islanders assistant coach Brent Thompson has been suspended for two games for inappropriate and abusive comments toward the officials following last nights 2-1 overtime loss to the Rangers.
Following the conclusion of last nights game, Kyle Okposo as well as the team staff were each given game misconducts for voicing their displeasure with the refs after the team had 4 penalties called on them last night including one in overtime. Meanwhile, the Rangers had nothing called on them throughout the entire game, for the first time in 24 years.
I really wonder what Thompson said to warrant a two game suspension. Doug Weight has said some stuff to officials before and never gotten anything so what Thompson said must've been a real doozie.
