According to Newsday, an aspect of Bruce Ratners proposal to redevelop the Coliseum included the Islanders playing six regular season games at the newly constructed arena.

Could this be a bargaining chip to get the Islanders to Brooklyn earlier? I am not really sure how I feel about it, but we'll see what happens over the next few months as we get closer to a winning proposal being selected.
