Disasterous Third Period Costs Isles In 5-3 Loss

This afternoon, we saw a common movie unfold at the Coliseum with the typical ending as the Islanders were defeated 5-3 by the Panthers after the Panthers scored 4 third period goals.  Here are some of my notes:

-Great send off game for Vanek, showed us a bit of what well be missing with him as soon as Tuesday.

-Nilsson needs to work on his confidence, after that second goal by the Panthers you could tell something was unsettled with him.

-Good to see the team show some life after the lifeless loss to the Devils.

-It was nice to see Strome get on the board, hopefully he is kept in the first line role he was in today.

-Anders Lee has impressed me in his three games thus far since his call up.

Today's game was a common movie of Garth's rebuild with the blown third period lead.  When will it stop?  I don't know, what I do know is that it doesn't get any easier to watch.

Next Game Tuesday 8PM @ Winnipeg
