Ex Isles Captain Guerin Named Assistant GM of Penguins

According to reports, in the midst of their front office revamp today, the Islanders division rival Penguins named former Islanders captain Bill Guerin an assistant GM.

Guerin served as Islanders captain for the 07/08 season and a portion of the 08/09 season before the Islanders dealt him to the Penguins at the trade deadline in 2009.  Guerin went on to win the 2009 Stanley Cup with the Penguins.

In 142 games for the Islanders Guerin put up 80 points and 128 penalty minutes.

This past summer Guerin joined Islanders assistant coach and his friend Doug Weight as they were inducted to the US Hockey Hall of Fame.
