From the time it was announced that the Islanders were going to move to Brooklyn, most fans figured that the teams presence on Long Island would naturally decrease with it having a greater presence in Brooklyn and that surrounding area.
However, that may not be 100% true. We learned earlier tonight that the Islanders still intend on having a presence in the Long Island community, even after the team moves to Brooklyn. Specifically, as of now, the team event at Adventureland which has become a favorite among fans is still scheduled to be held prior to the start of next season like it has been the last few years.
This should hopefully ease some peoples fears about the team disappearing from the area.
