Martin to Have Hearing For Hit on Daley

Update: Earlier tonight, it was announced that Matt Martin would be suspended one game as punishment for his knee on knee hit on Trevor Daley in last nights loss to Dallas.  With that punishment, Martin will be out of the lineup for the Islanders tomorrow night in Nashville.

Last night, Matt Martin was ejected from the game early in the first period for a knee on knee hit with Stars defenseman Trevor Daley.

After the game, Stars coach Lindy Ruff said that Daley could be out "weeks" due to the hit.
This morning, it was reported that Martin would have a phone hearing with the NHL department of player safety due to the hit.  Arthur Staple from Newsday expects Martin to get suspended one or two games for the hit.

When the hit initially happened I didn't think it was as bad as people were making it seem.  However, it appears as though the league disagreed so we will likely not see Martin in the lineup tomorrow night in Nashville.
